our name
While we can’t sing a tune, craft a cricket bat or take flight, our name has been around since 2008 and there are plenty of homes that have joined our flock over this time. Our name is one that produces plenty of confusion, so we are here to debunk the myths.
If you have followed along for a while, you may remember our past standard floorplans with names including Albatross, Bronzewing, Currawong, Petrel and Shearwater, just to name a few. If you aren’t a keen Ornithologist, we will make it simple. These are all bird names.
While being named ‘Eagle Homes’ after the king of the birds sounds kingly, there is more than status to our name. Kookaburra Homes holds an unassuming meaning, just like our building practices, local team and customer relationships.
The laughing kookaburra resides in our forests, woods, and gardens, particularly near gum trees. Fittingly, also an appropriate and popular adjacent location for your home build.
Moreover, kookaburras live in family units with the offspring assisting the parents. Kookaburra Homes employs the family second-generation, with three of the four offspring working in distinct departments of the business.

Wayne Goodwin
OWNER
Wayne is fast approaching over 40 years’ of experience in the building industry with a high level of expertise and experience in both residential and commercial construction.
Wayne is a very practical, detailed thinker when it comes to ensuring we deliver the best possible solution for our customers, with many of South Australia’s top suppliers and trades contacting Wayne for practical advice on how they can make their product better for both builders and customers.
Wayne leads a fantastic group of passionate site supervisors ensuring they also have the same level of detail and care for each project.
There is not a challenge that Wayne and his team cannot overcome, leaning on many years of experience which has led to the large growth in heavily customisable product and difficult site solutions we now offer.

From Humble Beginnings
General builders Wayne Goodwin, Keith Daniels and Chad Morton, who operate out of Port Lincoln, form WCK Pty Ltd – creating a new age of builders on the Eyre Peninsula. The new company trades under ‘Keith Daniels Homes’.
The Excitement Builds
With rapid growth in regional South Australia, Keith Daniels Homes opens offices in Whyalla and Roxby Downs. They service the surrounding areas, including constructing homes for BHP Billiton.
Becoming a SA Great
Kookaburra Homes is established to provide quality housing options for regional SA and beyond. Keith Daniels Homes is awarded the SA Great Large Business Award for their ongoing commitment to provide numerous housing solutions for Regional South Australia.
Moving Across SA
The commercial sector of WCK completed over $25 million worth of construction projects across the state, including many regional schools through the ‘Building the Education Revolution’ program.
WCK expands its presence to Murray Bridge to service the increasing house demand in the Murraylands.
Supporting the Local Communities
Kookaburra Homes wins Advantage SA Regional Award for Innovation in 2012.
WCK helps raise over $150,000 for the Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation by constructing a charity house in Port Lincoln.
Your Award-Winning Builder
Brand new display homes and a state-of-the-art Sales and Design Centre opens in Murray Bridge, providing a building experience never seen before in the Murraylands.
Kookaburra Homes is a finalist in three Housing Industry Australia SA Awards and wins Transportable Home of the Year 2015 for their display, the Grand Kestrel display home.
As Keith Daniels retires from WCK, the Keith Daniels Homes name is relinquished, with all aspects of home construction now trading under the Kookaburra Homes brand.
A New Look for Kookaburra
With the addition of new display homes in Murray Bridge and Mount Barker, a new corporate office in Adelaide, Kookaburra Homes endeavors to grow the business, whilst continuing to raise the standards of home building in SA.
Multi Award-Winning Builder
Kookaburra Homes grows its presence, expanding to build throughout the Adelaide Hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula. Kookaburra Homes is awarded SA’s Lightweight Home of the Year Award by the HIA and continues to support local communities, partnering with Ronald McDonald House Adelaide, donating over $72,000 since 2016.
SA’s Most Professional Home Builder
Kookaburra Homes marks its 35-year milestone with a host of achievements, including winning the prestigious HIA Professional Medium Builder Awards for SA, the Master Builder Association’s Supporting Local Industry Award and Lightweight Home of the Year Award. Kookaburra Homes open the Monash 214 and Bridgehampton display homes, establishing themselves as the leaders of the Hamptons style in the SA market.
Building Our Future
Kookaburra Homes are a National Finalist for the HIA Professional Medium Builder of the Year Award, along with a host of other awards. Kookaburra Homes continues to support local communities and invest in the future with plans or a new Headquarters in Murray Bridge.

Kookaburra Homes acquires the home of the new Selections Centre and Headquarters backed by the Display Home of the Year Award and three-time Professional Medium Home Builder of the Year Awards.
SA’s Largest Regional Design Centre Opening
The highly anticipated Selections Centre is complete and officially opened by Tony Pasin MP, Federal Member for Barker. The new space showcases the devotion to providing exceptional designs and personalised spaces, while embracing innovation and continuous improvement. The Kookaburra Homes Team relocates to the new facilities with a grand presence on Adelaide Road in Murray Bridge.
40 years of building excellence
Kookaburra Homes mark 40-years of building excellence and is awarded HIA South Australian Country Home of the Year 2024 for The Nuriootpa Project.
