Start from the ground
Starting with your flooring leads the way for the rest of your home. We love engineered timber or vinyl flooring in light, sun-kissed colours that remind you of sandy beach paths and summery days. Rugs compliment your choice and bring the warm under-foot feeling with them.
Polished or burnished concrete flooring is our second favourite choice, especially if you are looking for extreme durability and low maintenance. The right mix of textures and layers gives each room the warmth, interest and inviting feeling it deserves. By starting with the big items, the smaller elements compliment the space and can be updated as your tastes change. Think big slouchy couches in natural colours, rattan chairs, light coloured airy sheer curtains and large woven jute rugs.
Cladded walls and white furniture pieces create a lovely subtle feature without closing in a room. Add shelving and it becomes the perfect place to add your styling items. Wicker baskets, lamps plus beachy and coloured accessories to finish a room, just remember to keep these to a minimum to avoid it being kitschy.
