This country home was designed to suit the landscape with one important focus – a large family home with multiple functional living spaces to suit every family member. The result is a truly outstanding home that ticks all the boxes, and more.

Built in Karoonda, the heart of the Murray Mallee, this home is nestled on a 14-acre property and has all the country elements you would come to expect. From the detailed fretwork internally and externally, to the cladding, wrap around veranda and the farmhouse sink, there is no detail that hasn’t been considered.

To suit the wide block, we ensured the frontage was vast to create an expansive presence. The façade is one of the biggest aspects of the home and has been used to showcase the country style. We have used striking products such as Scyon Linea cladding, a gabled roof, detailed fretwork and classic windows to provide the perfect balance that sets the tone for the rest of the home.

After stepping through the front door, that country feeling is continued with the purposely chosen interior selections. Features include high ceilings, detailed wall panelling, ceiling roses and complimentary fretwork. We can’t forget the Caesarstone benchtops, feature timber shelving, a farmhouse sink and plantation shutters. As a lovely centrepiece to the rumpus room, a trough from the family farm is proudly on display.

Materials were thoughtfully selected to work with the natural environment. These include a high pitched roof, light iron and cladding colours and upgraded insulation batts to assist with energy efficiency.

Damien and Heidi recognised the importance of space and freedom for their children to grow, explore and play. Their enclosed rumpus room being the perfect place to enjoy a connection to the outdoors all year round. And when it isn’t being utilised as a play space, it is the ideal location for an entertainer’s paradise.

The chosen landscaping features manicured lawns, native plants and a large edible garden. This not only enhances the visual appeal, but also attracts local wildlife and has initiated added links to nature for the homeowner’s children.
